R=very right layer up, r=very right layer + middle layer up, U=top layer left, u=top 2 layers left, U'=top layer right, u=top 2 layers right, R'=very right layer down, r'=very right side+middle layer up, F=side facing you clockwise, f=side facing you + layer behind it clockwise, F'=side facing you counterclockwise, f'=side facing you+layer behind counterclockwise, L=very left side down, l=very left side+middle layer down, L'=very left side up, l' very left side+middle layer up.

Example: R,U =very right side up+top side left

  1. The ZZ method uses a special type of F2L which is similar to CFOP but also different
  2. Because I am not a ZZ user, watch this video for a good explanation of how to do this step.

  2. Because this is the intermediate version of ZZ, I would suggest doing it with beginner OLL
