Beginner White Cross

White Cross
GOAL

🎯 What to do:

  1. Yellow center on top, white center on bottom
  2. Find all 4 white edge pieces
  3. Instead of bringing them to the top to create a daisy, you are going to directly match one of them with their other color center piece
  4. example: You see a white red edge piece, instead of bring it to the top for a daisy, match it with the red center piece immediately
  5. Once the piece is matched, bring it to the bottom to create one edge of the white cross.
  6. Do this with all of the white edge pieces.

White pieces form "petals" around white center—like a cross.

GOAL

🎯 What to do:

  1. For this step, you want to match the edge pieces with white corner pieces in different ways to create pairs, please watch the video for higher level explanation
  2. Once you have acquired 1 pair, insert it using a specific method, please watch the video for further explanation
  3. Repeat this for all of the white corner pieces until the second layer is solved.

Each white corner's second color must match its center piece.

White Corners
GOAL

For this step, the goal is to solve the top layer. Match your cube → pick case:

For this step, many of the algorithms won't solve the top layer, you are aiming to turn the cube into a case which will solve. The case which will solve is called the sune and looks like a fish (and will be called the fish) To follow this step easier, look at how the pictures align the cases, and do the algorithm. Many of the algorithms are the same or just variations so don't feel intimidated by the amount of cases.

Hook

orient the hook so that it is in the right corner facing you, not in the back

Mushroom with headlights facing outwards

this case can be identified when the mushroom has headlights (the two yellow corner pieces which aren't well oriented) are pointing outwards. Make sure the stem of the mushroom facing away from you.

Mushroom with headlights facing straight forwards

This case can be identified whne the mushroom has headlights facing striaght forwards. Watch the video where I identify all the beginner OLL cases for help.

The Double Headed Fish

To orient this case, orient the double headed fish so that the headlight on the left is faced towards you. Watch the video for higher level description

The Straight cross

To orient this case, orient it any way as long as the headlights are facing forward and backward

R',U',R,U',R',U,U,R

The Cross

To orient this case, orient the cube so that the two headlights going sideways are not facing you and the 2 headlights going straight are facing you

R',U',R,U',R',U,U,R

The Fish

To orient the fish, hold it so that the headlight next to its head is facing you, your cube should look like the one in the picture or else you have the other fish

R,U,R',U,R,U',U',R'

The OP fish

This fish is basically the one above but opposite sides, so this one's head is pointed to the opposide side. Orient this one like shown in the picture and do the algorith!

Its good to memorize these algorithms. By the end of this step, your yellow edge pieces should form a cross (don't mind the edge pieces)

Match your cube → pick case and orient the case like the case describes it, if you don't understand please look at the video tutorial!:

Diagonal corner swap

what this means basically is that only 2 of the corner pieces in the yellow top face are in the right spot, the other 2 have to be swapped diagonally. Look at the picture for example!

Diagnoal corner swap
F,R,U',R',U',R,U,R',F',R,U,R',U',R',F,R,F'

Verticle Corner Swap

What this means is that 2 of the corner pieces which are in a verticle relationship to each other need to be swapped.

Verticle Corner Swap
R U R' U' R' F R2 U' R' U' R U R' F'

Double verticle Edge Piece Swap

What this means is that the corner pieces are correct but the edge pieces which are in the middle are wrong

Double verticle Edge Piece Swap
M2 U M2 U2 M2 U M2

CounterClockwise triple edge swap

What this means is that one of the sides other than the white and yellow face is already solved, its just 3 sides with correct corner pieces but incorrect edge pieces each needing to mnove one space to right

counterclocktripleedgeswap
R U' R U R U R U' R' U' R2

Clockwise triple edge swap

What this means is that other than the white and yellow face, one other face is solved and for the other 3, the corners are solved but not the edge pieces, they need to be moved 1 spot to the left.

clockwisetripleedgeswap
R2 U R U R' U' R' U' R' U R'

Diagonal Double Edge Swap

What this means is that all of the corner pieces are correct, its just the edge pieces which need to be swapped like in picture

diagonaldoubleedgeswap
M' U M2 U M2 U M' U2 M2

Its good to memorize these algorithms. By the end of this step, your yellow edge pieces should form a cross (don't mind the edge pieces)
